Irish Pub of the Year

We are very excited to share the news that Olde Blind Dog has been chosen "Irish Pub of the Year" by the Irish Pubs Global Federation of Dublin, Ireland! This is an international award, with over 6500 member pubs represented worldwide and sponsored by Guinness. The ceremony was held on Friday, Feb. 27, in Dublin, Ireland. Olde Blind Dog is the first pub in the U.S. to win this coveted award. As you can see, it is a very significant award and accomplishment for our restaurants, our team and our patrons. We are thrilled and humbled by this honor.

Inside is a wonderland of imported antiques, stained glass and hand-carvings that date back to the 19th century. "Our library seating area is from France, circa 1940," Dezell says. "Some of our leaded glass, floors and paneling are 250 years old from Europe." Pop-culture tchochkes also adorn the authentic pub. Take the replica of Mel Gibson in Braveheart—blue face paint and all—standing as its centerpiece, or a multileveled seating area featuring "snugs" (tucked-away spots for privacy). Celtic music; staff sporting black-collared shirts, plaid skirts, even kilts; and a cobblestoned road, complete with street signs and tables for two also hit upon tradition.
